Web Developer

Are you a seasoned Web Developer with a diverse skill set?  Do you enjoy blending strategy, creativity and coding to create websites that generate high conversions?  Is a supportive team environment that encourages ongoing skill development important to you?

Marketing Essentials is growing and we are seeking an experienced Web Developer to join our team of amazingly talented people.  This individual will work closely with our digital marketing teams to develop the strategy and execute the development for website projects to meet and exceed client goals.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Develop custom, responsive WordPress themes according to design mockups
  • Ability to work in various content management and proprietary systems
  • Install and manage appropriate plugins
  • Develop website forms and any other required functionality
  • Transfer, launch and test sites at the completion of site development
  • Assist team members with various components of website projects which can include strategy development, site architecture, wireframes, design mockups, copy matrices, etc.
  • Maintain websites hosted using various vendors including WPEngine, HostGator and GoDaddy

o   Perform regular site updates to maintain functionality and security of the platform

o   Troubleshoot and fix problems as they occur

o   Install and maintain SSL Certificates

o   Manage and make changes to the servers as necessary to avoid security breaches

  • Assist with maintaining all web design and web hosting standard operating procedures and quality control processes


  • Minimum of 5+ years of web development experience
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills
  • Highly skilled in the following areas/platforms: HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, WordPress, Joomla!, FTP, cPanel, SSL, PHPMyAdmin and MySQL
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing methodologies
  • Knowledge of SEO and application to UX and UA
