Scott Steel is a second-generation family-owned company with 20+ years of experience in the low-carbon steel industry. They came to Marketing Essentials looking for new branding and a refreshed website to position them for continued growth and to break free from the perception of being a “startup.” Employee recruitment was another strategic focus, as the company was struggling to hire people in a competitive labor market.

New Modern Website Enhances Inventory Management and Hiring

Scott Steel sought to position itself as an established, reliable player in the steel industry. To achieve this, we designed the website with a sleek, contemporary feel to reflect Scott Steel’s vision for the future. The user experience centers around simplicity and ease of use to align with the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction. It included a user-friendly steel inventory spreadsheet to allow for real-time tracking and management of available inventory. This feature not only enhances the customer experience but also streamlines Scott Steel’s internal operations.

A critical aspect of the website’s functionality also included addressing Scott Steel’s need to attract and recruit top talent, essential for their growth strategy. We incorporated a dedicated careers section that showcases the company’s culture, values and the benefits of joining the team, while also enabling candidates to easily apply for available positions.

New Branding Portrays Company’s Expertise

Marketing Essentials began development of a new logo and brand messaging with our analysis of their competitors, industry and target audience. This groundwork laid the foundation for a collaborative brainstorming session with the Scott Steel team, aimed at exploring fresh ideas for the logo, color palette and brand narrative. 

Following these discussions, our team crafted and unveiled a new logo and brand messaging. The new logo features clean lines and a simple color scheme of steel gray with vibrant accents, signaling innovation while remaining inviting. Subtle elements suggest strength and flexibility, highlighting Scott Steel’s capability to offer specialized services. 

The new brand messaging, centered around the value proposition ‘When It Comes to Steel, Scott Finds a Way,’ conveys confidence and underscores Scott Steel as a reliable, versatile and approachable partner in the steel industry.
