# How To Find Your Next Employee on LinkedIn

Struggling to fill vacant positions in your company? LinkedIn not only helps people find employment, but it also [helps companies find the right employees](https://mktgessentials.com/expertise/recruitment-marketing/). You can certainly post your job opening on your newsfeed on your company page for free, but your post won’t be directed to the top candidates qualified for your position.

One of the most effective ways to use LinkedIn to find employee candidates is through LinkedIn's promoted job posts. LinkedIn’s pay-per-click job postings can target specific skills listed in potential candidates’ personal profiles and put your job posting in front of them.

## **How To Get Started with LinkedIn Job Posting**

LinkedIn pay-per-click job postings may be the ticket to finding the best-qualified candidates for your open positions. Here’s how to get started with job posting on LinkedIn.

1. **Be sure to start a company page if you haven’t already.** [Here are the steps](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/710/creating-a-linkedin-page?lang=en) for creating a company page. Your company page is a great resource for potential candidates to learn more about you and your company. An optimized and complete company page has a better chance of attracting new recruits.
2. **Prepare for your job posting.** You'll need to put some thought into what you will post before building your LinkedIn job post. The first thing you will want to determine is the daily budget, or how much you want the ad to spend to run each day. Too low, and your ad may not be shown to potential recruits. Too high, and you may be wasting money. You may need to test by trial and error until you find the right budget that brings in candidates for your position.
   
   The second component to prepare is your job description. You have ample space to describe what the job entails and what your company is all about, so get creative! The more compelling, the more interest you will have. Be sure to add what is in it for the candidate (i.e., benefits), bullet points of duties and responsibilities, and what makes your company great to work for.
3. **Begin building your LinkedIn job post**. Get the steps for [posting a job on LinkedIn here](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/166?query=post%20a%20job&hcppcid=search). Once your job is posted, it will appear under your “Jobs” tab on your LinkedIn company page. It will also be searchable throughout the LinkedIn network and will be recommended to potential job seekers through their “Jobs You May Be Interested In” feature.
4. **Monitor your job post on a regular basis.** Remember, your job post will continue to run until you [close it](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/172?query=job%20posting&hcppcid=search), so be sure to monitor the job posting closely. 5. **Share, share, share!** Once your job is posted, share away! Even better, ask your current employees who have a LinkedIn profile to share the job posting. This will get more views on your job posting because their connections will now see it.

Candidates like to hear from current employees working at the company they are interested in. If one of your employees' connections is interested in the open position, they may ask your employee how they like working for your company. Your employees are your best advocates!
